Unfortunately, more and more people today are diagnosed with cancer and it is said that one in three of us will be directly affected in our lifetime, but nonetheless diagnosis is traumatic and life changing. Optimistically the survival rates increase each year as new and improved treatments are developed. In recognition of invaluable help and support given to cancer victims and their families Simpson Burgess Nash Chartered Accountants decided that we wished to adopt Macmillan Cancer Support as our nominated charity.
Our CEO, Sharon Nash, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and in associating ourselves with Macmillan Cancer Support fund raising campaigns we hope to raise awareness of the role Macmillan occupy within the community. Macmillan Cancer Support offers emotional and financial support to those diagnosed to improve quality of life and ease the pressures imposed by an unexpected inability to continue with their normal life. Joining with other businesses within our Bruntwood premises at the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning we tried to raise awareness of the value of charitable giving through gift aid donations and employee donation schemes and raised £250 whilst enjoying a cup of coffee.
